Quick summary
  • DTAC is a form you complete and generate for external stakeholders, one for each product.
  • Find it under Compliance → Frameworks. A form needs a Key contact and a Product before you can start it.
  • You can generate before every section is complete. You’ll be warned, but not stopped.
NHS England updated DTAC on 24 February 2026, and v2 came into force on 6 April 2026. Assuric works to v2. Guidance written for the original single-form flow no longer applies. As with any framework update, your existing progress and gaps carry across automatically.

Before you start

The form draws its answers from your workspace, so the more is already in Assuric, the less you type. Company details come from and product details from the product record.

Open the DTAC framework

1

Go to Frameworks

Click Compliance → Frameworks in the sidebar, then open the DTAC card.

2

Get your bearings

DTAC’s framework page has a DTAC Forms panel where submissions live and, lower down, each DTAC section with its official description.

Create a form

1

Click New DTAC form

In the DTAC Forms panel, click New DTAC form.
The form is created the moment you click, before you’ve filled anything in, and a New DTAC form added confirmation appears. To back out, use Back and then delete the form: closing the dialog leaves an empty form behind.
2

Set the key contact and product

The Start DTAC Form? dialog asks for 2 things, and both are required:
  • Key contact: who the key contact for this submission is
  • Product: which product the form covers
If either is blank, Start won’t proceed and the missing field is marked Required.

3

Click Start

The form opens, and its status changes to In Progress.
Each form covers one product, so 3 products mean 3 forms, side by side in the DTAC Forms panel with their own product and key contact. An assessor reviewing one product gets a form scoped to it.

Work through the sections

The form has 8 sections, listed down the left with a status against each, following the official DTAC lettering:

1

Check what's already filled in

Many questions arrive answered. In Section A, your company name and product name come from your workspace, so check they’re current there.
2

Answer the rest

Some questions are conditional: answering Yes to “Is your company required to register with the CQC?” asks for the date of your last assessment and your latest CQC report.
3

Read the Official Guidance notes

Where NHS England publishes guidance for a question, it appears inline under an Official Guidance heading. It’s the assessor’s own wording, worth following exactly.
4

Move on

Click Next to continue, or Save & Back to leave and return later. Section status updates as you go.
Each question has copy and comment icons. Use comments to ask a colleague about an answer instead of chasing it in Slack: the note stays attached to the question.

Generate the form

1

Review the section checklist

The page lists every section with its code and current status. If anything is outstanding, you’ll see Warning: Incomplete sections, reading “There are still some outstanding sections to complete for your DTAC form”.

2

Tick Ready for export

Under Ready to generate completed DTAC form, tick Ready for export to confirm the assessment is complete and ready to share with external stakeholders. This marks the Generate DTAC Form section as Completed, which is why the counter reads out of 8, not 7.
3

Click Continue, then Generate

A Ready to generate? dialog confirms what happens next:
This will generate the completed NHS DTAC document in your control evidence library, complete with links to supporting documentation. This will then be ready to share and we recommend adding it to your Trust Page.
Click Generate, or Cancel to go back.

Add the generated document to your Trust Centre so customers can get it themselves.
The incomplete-sections warning is advisory, not a block. You can tick Ready for export and generate with every other section still Not Started. Treat the section checklist as the gate, not the button: an assessor receiving a form generated from an empty assessment sees exactly that.
What we recommendCreate a form early and open Section A, even if you can’t finish it: the auto-filled answers are the fastest way to find what’s missing or stale in your workspace, and an assessor would find the same gaps.
