Quick summary
  • Evidence & Files holds the proof behind your claims, such as PDFs and screenshots, which you group into types and tag to products.
  • Changing evidence on a linked hazard log control changes it everywhere that control is used.
  • Evidence isn’t versioned or approved the way a document is.

Add evidence

Evidence is anything that supports a claim. Unlike a document, it isn’t versioned or approved, though it can point at a specific document version.
1

Open the Evidence & Files tab

Go to Documents → Evidence & Files.
The Evidence and Files tab listing evidence items

The Evidence & Files tab.

2

Add a new item

Click New and choose a kind of evidence:
  • Link: a URL
  • Upload: a file from your machine, such as a PDF, Excel spreadsheet, Word document, screenshot or video
  • Note: a free-text note
  • Document Version: a specific version of a document already in Assuric

3

Give it a type

Pick an existing type so the item is easy to find later, or create one for any item to use: enter a Label, like Insurance Certificates, choose a colour and an icon, and click Save.
The evidence type editor with the label Insurance Certificates, blue selected and the icon library open

Creating an evidence type from Evidence type → Create New. 1 is the Label, the type's name. 2 is its colour. 3 is the icon library, opened with Browse Icons.

To find evidence again, filter by one type at a time with the + Type chip.
4

Tag it to a product

If evidence applies to one product only, tag it, so you can find it when a customer asks about that product, not your whole estate.

Where else evidence shows up

Changing evidence on a linked control changes it everywhere that control is used, so before you replace a file that’s been in use for a while, check what else it affects.
What we recommendDecide your evidence types early and keep the list short: 6 or 8 is usually enough. Giving hundreds of items a type later is slow.
