# Manage, approve and publish clinical documents

> Edit your CRMP and CSCR, approve new versions through the review cycle or Approve version, and publish them to your Trust Centre.

<Note>
  **Quick summary**

  * Clinical safety documents are ordinary Assuric documents: you edit, approve and publish them like any other.
  * A document must be approved before it can go on your Trust Centre.
  * Approving a new version moves the places you leave ticked under *Republish options*, such as your Trust Centre resource, to the new version.
</Note>

The hazard log is approved and published separately: see [Approve and version your hazard log](/clinical-safety/hazard-log-approvals) and [Share and publish your hazard log](/clinical-safety/sharing-and-publishing).

## Manage clinical documents

| To | See |
| - | - |
| Edit and format a document, comment, and edit together | [The Assuric document editor](/documents/document-editor) |
| See or restore an earlier auto-saved snapshot | [Change history](/documents/document-editor#change-history) |
| Update a live hazard log table or a placeholder | [Keep documents current with placeholders](/documents/placeholders) |
| View, download, compare or restore an approved version | [Approved versions](/documents/versions-and-version-history#approved-versions) |
| Keep clinical safety documents together in a folder | [Organise and find documents](/documents/creating-a-document#organise-and-find-documents) |

## Approvals and version control

| To | See |
| - | - |
| Approve a document that isn't controlled, with **Approve version** | [Document versioning](/documents/versions-and-version-history) |
| Send a controlled document through review and approval | [Controlled documents](/quality/controlled-documents) |
| Choose which places move to the new version | [Republish options](/documents/versions-and-version-history#republish-options) |

To have your clinical safety officer (CSO) approve each version of a controlled document, add the *CSO* role under *Must approve*. See [Who reviews and approves](/quality/review-cycle-and-statuses#who-reviews-and-approves).

## Publish to your Trust Centre

Only an approved document can go on your Trust Centre, and you [publish one approved version](/trust-centre/what-to-publish) of it, so editing the draft changes nothing customers see.

Once a document is on your Trust Centre:

* Approve a new version with the Trust Centre resource ticked under *Republish options* and the resource moves to it.
* To control who can see a published document, see [Access requests and who can see what](/trust-centre/access-control).
