# Clinical risk management plan

> Create your clinical risk management plan (CRMP) in Assuric from a template or your own file, keep its people and roles current with placeholders, and set how often you're reminded to review it.

<Note>
  **Quick summary**

  * Create your CRMP from the template in **Templates**, or upload your own.
  * Write the people involved once, as a synced content block, and it updates in your CRMP and CSCRs.
  * *Clinical Plan Schedule*, under **Settings** → **Meetings**, sets your plan review reminders.
</Note>

## Create it in Assuric

<Steps>
  <Step title="Find the template">
    Go to **Documents** and open the **Templates** tab. In [Assuric Templates](/documents/templates-and-document-catalogue), find **\[TEMPLATE] Clinical Risk Management Plan**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Create it from the template">
    Click **Create from template** on its row, then:

    * Fill in the [document's details](/documents/creating-a-document#fill-in-the-document-details), permissions and review schedule.
    * Tag *DCB0129* under *Frameworks* if it isn't already.
    * Tick *Controlled* if the plan needs a formal review and approval cycle.

    Click **Create** to open the plan with its placeholders filled in from your workspace.
  </Step>
</Steps>

To use a clinical risk management plan (CRMP) you've already written, [upload it](/documents/creating-a-document#start-a-document) instead (`.docx`, `.doc` or `.xlsx`, up to 50 MB), then replace repeated names and roles with placeholders so they stay current.

## Assuric features for your CRMP

| Feature | What it does in a CRMP |
| - | - |
| **Placeholders** | A **Role** [placeholder](/documents/default-placeholders#people-and-roles) for your clinical safety officer (CSO) names whoever holds the role and updates when the role holder changes, and company details fill in from workspace setup |
| **Synced Content Block** | Write the section naming the people involved in clinical safety once, as a [synced content block](/documents/placeholders#create-a-custom-placeholder), and use it in your CRMP and every clinical safety case report (CSCR), so editing it once updates them all |
| **Version and approval tables** | Record each approved [version](/documents/versions-and-version-history) of the plan, and who approved it |
| **Review reminders** | *Clinical Plan Schedule*, under **Settings** → **Meetings**, sets how often you're reminded to review the plan |

The document's own *Review schedule* is separate from the *Clinical Plan Schedule*: changing one doesn't change the other.

To edit, approve and publish the plan, see [Manage, approve and publish clinical documents](/clinical-safety/managing-clinical-documents).
